Ever notice that most superheroes start out as geeks? Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) is an outcast, can't get the girl and knows a lot about insects. Only when he is bitten by a spider and turns into 'Spider-Man' does he turn into a muscular hottie with some serious skills. But there is something about geeky Peter Parker that we can't help but love.

Despite being considered a nerd, Milhouse from 'The Simpsons' is shown to have just-average intelligence with poor people skills. He is constantly led into trouble by the mischievous Bart, who is not shy about taking advantage of his naive and trusting friend. Milhouse is also one of the few residents in Springfield that has eyebrows.

Although Napoleon is a nerd, he cares about his friends and is there when they need him.

Velma Dace Dinkley (Linda Cardellini) is the bespetacled character and resident genius of the 'Scooby-Doo' quartet. She is most often the one to decipher the clues and solve the crimes. She usually is always in orange and has thick, black-rimmed glasses that are tinted blue.

Samuel 'Screech' Powers (Dustin Diamond) is the awkward nerd from 'Saved by the Bell.' Screech has been tagging along with Zack Morris since elementary school. In exchange for doing Zack's homework, Screech receives protection from bullies. He's very comfortable with his geekiness and fancies himself a ladies' man.

Despite his geeky persona, he is surprisingly well built, causing comment among Ashley Banks' friends when he appears in swimwear. Carlton screams like a girl when he sees something surprising, like Will kissing a girl.
