Most graduate schools require prospective students to take the Graduate Record Examinations, also known as the GRE.
Admissions and fellowship panels use the scores, along with undergraduate records and other qualifications, to determine which students they will accept into their programs.
When Can I Take It?
Tests are administered on computers at test sites year round. Paper tests are given on select dates.
How Long Is the Test?
3 hours for the computerized version, 3 hours and 45 minutes for the paper version
