RED's teamed up with CollegeProwler.com, which talks to real students about their schools ... and when we say REAL students, we don't mean the goody-goodies giving the campus tours.

Athletics
If you like sports, the University of Pittsburgh may be the right school for you. Football and basketball are the main sports and Pitt is ranked in Division 1 in the Big East. You better get your blue and gold ready and practice your Panther chants before attending your first game, because they are all about school spirit! Students say that tailgating at football games is the highlight of the fall semester. Just make sure to dress warm.
Local Atmosphere
One thing about the University of Pittsburgh is that you will never be at a loss for things to do. From having a variety of restaurants to Oakland bars and clubs, there is so much to do. Students love the busy city life of Pittsburgh, without the stress of being overwhelmed by an area too large to explore. There are so many different things to do, with different colleges to interact with, that most students have no complaints about the atmosphere in and around campus.
Nightlife
There are a number of bars close to campus that are popular with Pitt students, and even more up the street in Shadyside that are usually fequented by the CMU and med-school crowd. If you're willing to hop a bus, the bars of downtown and the clubs of the Strip District and Station Square all open up as potential hangouts, and these areas get very crowded on the weekends. One thing is for sure, you won't run out of places to hangout or get bored of going to the same old place every weekend. In Pittsburgh, you have variety!
Off-Campus Dining
If you love food as much as we do, brace yourself. Pittsburgh has some of the yummiest off-campus restaurants. Most students say that there are way too many places to even mention. They can't even pick their favorites.
The thing they all seem to like the most is that you don't just have the typical American food and franchises, but there are also a lot of ethnic options, like Chinese, Indian and Mexican.
