Meet Bri

University of Hawaii at Manoa

Name: Brianna ("Bri")
Age: 18
Major: Athletic Training
Home State: Hawaii
Read Her Blog: 'Project: Freshman'

Bri, a Hawaii native, has always loved playing sports. She was even named Honolulu's Most Outstanding Female High School Athlete in 2007.

So it was no surprise, then, when she decided to join the University of Hawaii's Athletic Training program. Brianna graduated from her high school with honors and is the first in her Ohana to go to college as part of Hawaii's College Opportunity Program, which allows students from low-income families to attend college without having to pay the full price of tuition. Who doesn't love a bargain?

Bri describes her high school career as "safe" and "sheltered," but now that she's in college, she's ready to break free and discover herself at the University of Hawaii. Bri (or Bri-Dawg as her friends call her … but we'll try NOT to), is excited about living on her own and being able to do whatever she wants to do. On the other hand, she is also nervous that she might party a BIT too hard, since this is her first taste of adult living.

Bri finds her fun at the bowling alley, on the basketball courts, or in her dorm watching chick flicks. She earns extra money by working for the University's Athletic Program as an equipment manager, but her major claim to fame is that she can solve the Rubik's Cube. Damn, girl!
